THE SHOPS AT INWOOD FARMERS’ MARKET HOSTING
SECOND ANNUAL ‘FAMILY FUN DAY’
Shoppers can enjoy Westcrest Farms mini-burgers and West Virginia wine samples while the kids play in the free Moon Bounce and hay maze during the second annual “Family Fun Day” at The Shops at Inwood Farmers’ Market Saturday, August 15, from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
“Local foods continue to grow in popularity as consumers seek fresher, better tasting alternatives,” said West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture Gus R. Douglass. “Farmers’ markets are an engine for local economies, and also provide a central point for communities where consumers and producers can meet face-to-face.”
Another feature attraction will be the only known surviving 1914 “Norwalk Underslung Six” automobile, manufactured for a time in Martinsburg. Marketed with the slogan "The Car of Absolute Exclusiveness," the models ranged in price from $2,750 to $3,750 – three-to-four times the price of a Ford Model T. Today, the Norwalk is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
West Virginia Department of Agriculture’s Marketing and Development Division Assistant Director Dan Woodrum said that visitors to the Martinsburg Mall’s Family Fun Fair – sponsored by Prettyman Broadcasting – can catch the Martinsburg Roundhouse Trolley Shuttle to the Inwood Farmers’ Market on the hour from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Return shuttle trips leave the Market each half-hour from 12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
The Market also continues to sell biodiesel. Samples of West Virginia products and honey will be provided throughout the day, as well as prize giveaways.

The West Virginia Department of Agriculture protects plant, animal and human health through a variety of scientific, regulatory and consumer protection programs, as mandated by state law.
