UNCLE BUNK'S WINS MAJOR INTERNATIONAL FOOD INDUSTRY AWARD

Rose and Larry Young, owners
of Uncle Bunk's of Sistersville, pose with the first place award banner they received from the Scovie Awards, sponsored annually by "Fiery-Foods & BBQ Magazine," to recognize the best in spicy foods. This is the second year in a row that Uncle Bunk's has won an award in this competition. Uncle Bunk's founder Larry Young won the contest's coveted Amateur Grand Prize in 2004.

Results of the 2005 Scovie Awards, the food industry's top award recognizing hot and spicy foods, were recently announced, and Uncle Bunk's Mustard Relish has taken first place in the Mustard Category. The Scovie Awards, sponsored by Fiery-Foods & BBQ Magazine , utilizes a panel of the country's top culinary experts to sample products from some of the most noted names in gourmet food .

This is the second year in a row that Uncle Bunk's has won an award in this competition. Uncle Bunk's was formed after Larry Young, founder and owner of Uncle Bunk's, won the contest's coveted Amateur Grand Prize in 2004. That year, Uncle Bunk's Mustard Relish was the First Place Mustard Category and overall Grand Prize Winner, with his Rustic Pepper Sauce making an outstanding Third place finish in the Hot Sauce Category .

The team at Uncle Bunk's is particularly proud of this year's award. "When we entered the amateur division in 2004, we had no expectations, so we were shocked and thrilled to be named the Grand Prize winner," Stacey Young, Director of Marketing said. "This year, we knew more about what to expect, and entering as professionals we were facing competition from some of the biggest names from around the country and around the world. A small, family run business going up against the big guys and winning is a testament to the quality of our products."

Uncle Bunk's is owned and operated by Larry Young and his wife Rose Marie, along with their two daughters. Located in Sistersville , W.Va. , Uncle Bunk's manufactures gourmet products based on old-time Appalachian recipes. These products include the Scovie Award winning Mustard Relish (Hot & Medium), Rustic Pepper Sauce (Hot & Medium), and 14 Day Sweet Pickles. Uncle Bunk's will release three new products this spring: Hot Sweet Pickles, Hot Pepper Jelly and Pepper Jelly.

For more information, contact Uncle Bunk's at 304-652-1920 or visit the website: www.unclebunks.com , which should be up and running around mid-May.
