FOURTH ANNUAL FARM FIELD DAY TO BE HELD THIS SATURDAY
Diamond M Longhorns in Preston County will be the site of a farm
field day on Saturday, September 25, 2004, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The
event is free and open to the public, although pre-registration
is requested for meal planning purposes.
West Virginia Department of Agriculture's (WVDA) State Veterinarian
Joe Starcher, DVM, will provide information on the timely topic
of animal identification, including regulations and trends. LaVonne
Paden will provide information and current practices surrounding
farmland preservation issues in West Virginia. Agricultural displays
and a cutting horse demonstration are also slated in the day's activities.
At the conclusion of the program, participants will be treated
to a home-cooked BBQ meal featuring foods from Diamond M and local
farms.
