USDA TO PROVIDE VIDEO NEWS RELEASE ON NEW AGRICULTURAL SURVEY

Washington, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has announced that the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS) will be the subject of a video news release (VNR) that will be available December 30 and January 27, 2005.

The VNR provides an overview of ARMS, an important survey to be conducted throughout the country. The release encourages producers to participate while highlighting the NASS confidentiality pledge that ensures individual survey participant information will be kept confidential. The release also describes the impacts of the survey on agricultural industries.

The feed will be available from 4:15-4:30 p.m. EST at TELSTAR 5 (C-Band) Transponder 16, Horizontal, downlink frequency 4020 MHZ, 97 degrees west, Audio 6.2/6.8. Problems accessing the feed should be directed to 703-642-8585.

A full script will be available at http://www.usda.gov/agency/oc/bmtc/scripts.htm. Streaming video will be available at http://www.usda.gov/agency/oc/bmtc/vidnews.htm.
