CHRISTMAS TREES AVAILABLE AT CAPITOL MARKET

Capitol Market is currently featuring West Virginia Grown Christmas trees in many different varieties, as well as garlands, wreaths and holiday swags in their Outdoor Market. Capitol Market Executive Director Tammy Borstnar urges shoppers to remember Capitol Market when shopping for their trees.

“We have eight West Virginia growers providing several different types of trees from Frasier Firs to Blue Spruce and many others. We have more than a thousand trees to choose from, so you will definitely find your holiday tree here,” said Borstnar.

“This is an excellent opportunity to support West Virginia tree growers and the Capitol Market,” said Agriculture Commissioner Gus R. Douglass. “The Market is a great place for you and your family to go pick out a fresh-cut tree that is perfect for you.”

West Virginia tree growers featured at the Market include:

• Black Forest Plantation
• Cornelius Christmas Tree Plantation
• French Creek Farms
• French Creek Farms Landscaping
• Marvin Edwards
• Parson’s Trees
• Santa’s Forest
• WV Trees

The Market’s extended holiday hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 5 p.m.

The Capitol Market is located at 800 Smith Street in Charleston. For more information, contact the Market at 304/344-1905 or visit their website at www.capitolmarket.net.

The outdoor portion of Capitol Market is one of three operated by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. Others are located in Logan and Inwood. For a complete listings of farmers’ markets around the State, contact the WVDA’s Communications Division at 304/558-3708.
