PHILIP K. PETRY PROMOTED TO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF THE WVDA'S MOOREFIELD LABORATORY COMPLEX

West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture Gus R. Douglass announced the promotion of Philip K. Petry to Assistant Director of the Regulatory and Environmental Affairs Section of the West Virginia Department of Agriculture’s Moorefield Laboratory Complex in Moorefield, W.Va.

“Phil has a Bachelor of Science Degree in agriculture and biology. His course studies included ecology, environmental science and chemistry. An employee with the Department for 28 years, Phil began his career as a regulatory officer covering the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. He was promoted to regulatory officer supervisor in 1997,” said Commissioner Douglass. “His vast knowledge of the Department and the Regulatory and Environmental Affairs Division will be a great asset to the Department of Agriculture in this position, and to the people served by this Agency.”

Commissioner Douglass concluded, “I am always pleased to be able to recognize qualified, hard-working employees with these opportunities when they arise. Phil’s analytical ability and familiarity with the area and programs will bring even more stability to our programs.”
