Since 1963, the Fair has provided a showcase for the states
premier artisans and their work. More than 200 of the finest crafters,
artists and musicians are scheduled to attend this years Fair,
which is considered by many to be the granddaddy of
art and craft events in West Virginia.
What is really special about this event is the quality of
the items exhibited and the fact that artists demonstrating how
their work is created, said MSACF President Jean Smith. All
of the artists are selected by a jury process, ensuring that all
exhibitors are accomplished in their fields.
In addition to the artist displays, MSACF features plenty of great
food, from barbecue chicken dinners to homemade ice cream. There
are also plenty of attractions for the kids, including a petting
zoo, hands-on crafting stations, storytellers and musicians.
Its a great way for the entire family to spend a day,
said Smith. The location is very scenic, with a gorgeous lake
and hills in the background. Plus, the grounds are flat and accessible
