WVDA TO ANNOUNCE RESULTS OF ECONOMIC SURVEY OF WV AGRIBUSINESSES

For Immediate Release April 3, 2001

CHARLESTON, WV – On Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at 2 p.m., in Charleston’s Capitol Market, Commissioner of Agriculture Gus R. Douglass will announce the results of a statewide economic survey of the agribusinesses in West Virginia. "We surveyed more than 400 agribusinesses from across the Mountain State," Commissioner Douglass said. "With these results, we now know their total contribution to our economy, employment and other important data from this development of our renewable resources. I commend the hard work of the many men and women who have started these businesses, and I also thank the staff of the West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA) who have assisted with their success through our West Virginia Grown program."

The Capitol Market is located near the corner of Smith and Capitol Streets. For more information, contact Bill Bissett, 304/558-3708.
