WEST VIRGINIA FOOD PRODUCTS REACH THE GLOBAL MARKET THROUGH U.S. FOOD EXPORT SHOWCASE MAY 7-9, 2000

CHARLESTON, W.VA. — As an important part of the West Virginia Department of Agriculture's commitment to developing opportunities for cottage industries, a group of established companies from across West Virginia will travel to Chicago, Illinois, to make new contacts for their products during the U.S. Food Export Showcase, May 7-9, 2000, at the McCormick Place Convention Center.

Agriculture Commissioner Gus R. Douglass believes the Showcase is the perfect venue to introduce many of our successful food businesses to the next step in their marketing. "We have seen many success stories with the more than 350 companies that have taken advantage of the services we provide at the West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA). The U.S. Food Export Showcase is another way of connecting our great products with 40,000 domestic food buyers and 6,000 international buyers from 100 countries. It's definitely a busy three days for the companies that display here with us." The following companies will represent West Virginia at this year's Showcase:
