Agricultural Plant Pathology Monitoring and Education Program
Protecting and enhancing the agricultural economy of West Virginia through plant disease surveys and education.
Disease Surveys
The WVDA Agricultural Plant Pathology Program monitors for high-risk plant diseases that threaten interstate and international trade relationships and have the potential to cause significant crop damage if introduced to West Virginia. Early detection is key to reducing the negative impacts of exotic plant pathogens. Monitoring levels of established and emerging plant pathogens is also a crucial part of the program.
Education and Outreach
The WVDA Agricultural Plant Pathology Program also provides science-based knowledge for managing plant diseases to growers and citizens of West Virginia through workshops, publications and online resources.
